When Undertaking Any Slide Sheet Manoeuvres/Moving & Handling Tasks:

1. Make sure you have done your own risk assessment and that the technique being used is appropriate.

2. Or follow the handling plan from somebody who has done a risk assessment.

3. Check all equipment for any signs of wear and tear prior to use.

Slide sheets enable persons to be easily moved up a surface or laterally, or over onto their side. These manoeuvres are some of the most common moving and handling manoeuvres that are undertaken. In addition, slide sheets are useful in any context where there is a need to reduce friction to a person.

Minimise Risk of Injury to Persons
Slide sheets reduce the risk of shearing to a persons skin (tearing or causing friction burns) this in turn will improve the care experience and health outcomes to the person.
Minimise Risk of Injury Risk to Staff
Slide sheets enable staff to handle and position patients more safely, reducing the risk of injury to staff, in line with best practice and risk assessment.
Wide Accessibility & Versatility
There are so many options of slide sheets to suit you requirements and/or your risk assessment. Such as multiple types (flat, flat with handles, tubular), washable or single patient use and different size options.
