Before Managing Your Incontinence Needs:

1. Consult your GP to insure you are appropriately assessed.

2. Check all equipment for any signs of wear and tear prior to use.

Bedpads are a great solution for those suffering  with incontinence as they protect the bedding and mattress, as well as provide comfort and dignity to the person. Bedpads can come in many variations, but in general are designed with 3 separate layers:

Top Surface: Quilted
The top surface is often a quilted design to provide comfort to the person.
Middle Layer: Soaker
The middle is a soaker layer which absorbs liquid resulting from leaks and spills
Bottom Layer: Fluid-Proof Barrier
The bottom layer is a fluid proof barrier providing protection to the bedding and mattress. This layer is also designed to minimize any movement, to keep the pad in place.
With or Without Tucks
Typically the barrier layer of bedpads has a textured backing to ensure the bedpad remains in place. However, options with tucks are available for restless sleepers for added reassurance.
